Dear friends, My granddaughter, Zoe Jackson works on one of your boards....she lives in Ypsilanti, Mich. She wrote me about your needing funds and I agreed to host 2 subscriptions: one as a scholarship and one for a specific young girl...about 13 whose mother is a national figure in journalism and as a writer, Anne Ryder. She has interview HHDalai Lama and gave the last interview with Mother Theresa. I thought not only that her daughter would enjoy this but that she might get interested and be able to give you some ideas...about lots of things. Also there is a foundation in Indianapolis called the MOtherhead foundation...I know they usually run 2 or 3 years out but since their vision is programs for youth I thought you might try contacting them.

I would prefer to send you a check and not use the internet ..one because we do not use our credit cards on line and the other because I have a very difficult time with technology. Lynn Jackson, 10906 Three Hundred Yard Drive, Fishers, In. 46037...phone 317 842 0993...above is my email.

Remember that the difference between i3 and various other education programs is not as great as it sounds, as we describe in more detail here.

Although all are equally important, Mr. Shelton stated that the ability to financially sustain a program outside of Dept. of Education funding is especially essential...

Almost every Federal program has a section on sustainability. Few actually achieve it, for the reasons we describe here.

IPMG Publishing is a developer of propritary math games, math worksheets and math activities in pdf's and printed books. Check-out IPMG's website, www.iplaymathgames.com, for hundreds of free sample downloads. IPMG intends to evolve it's proprietary games into SMART select accredited content. What suggestions do people have for us as we begin this process? IPMG Publishing is a privately held company that is interested in partner opportunities.

By far the best non-fiction book this year is:
"Money Bare Basic Facts. Personal Financial Education"
at Stand8.0 B940 Tarquin/XPL Publishing.

Charming, and a superb reference source, it's what we all ought to have know for years. Straightforward, sweet and plain-speaking.
For young adults and anyone who needs confidence about everyday money. Brilliant.

I would like to register a comment on this grant; however, though the press release indicates that the comment phase has begun, it does not clearly state where to leave the comment.

Please advise.

Blessings,

Thanks for publishing the "State of the Kid" piece. One obvious answer to the stress kids feel about school and homework is to make schoolwork more engaging, successful and fun. Stress is usually the result of feeling overwhelmed, unsucessful and bored. Our publihsing group in New Zealand is highly committed to resourced that promote student achievement but also respect the kids, especially those not succeeding at school - too often these kids get a relentless and boring diet of skills work that paradoxically doesn't improve their achievement - because they're not getting to the higher order thinking that builds self efficacy in young learners. OK enough of the lecture - well done AEP. Neale
